Overview
I Said a Prayer…Now What? is an overview of salvation. Too many folks mutter some “sinner’s prayer” and assume there’s nothing more to do now except good works and stop bad behavior. That is part of it, but there’s a lot of missing information. For example, growing up in a standard denominational church, neither Sandy nor Alexys heard about God’s holy Kingdom or about the two spiritual kingdoms: one of light and one of darkness.
No one taught them that dying to the fleshly nature while living in a contaminated human shell is not only possible, but necessary to living in holy covenant with God. Eternal salvation is more than a simple prayer. Entering God’s holy Kingdom requires something of us. In fact, it requires all of us to be surrendered to all of God, allowing Jesus’ supernatural, unblemished, unlimited, eternal life to replace our tainted, limited, frail, natural life.
Jesus longs to pour Himself into mankind so He can lavish us with His bountiful love and blessings. Unfortunately, many people have spoken the manmade “sinner’s prayer” during an emotional expression without considering the cost. Luke 14:28 asks, “For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?” This little book breaks down the cost of walking with Jesus and becoming a son of God, an heir to His holy Kingdom.

Overview
Sandy and Alexys are staunch ministers of the Gospel of Christ. Both have been in ministry on different levels for forty-plus years each. Many believers have made walking with the Lord far too arduous, causing them to fall away feeling like a failure. This should not be. As a minister of God's Kingdom, I can confidently say that most, if not all, pastors, counselors, ministry leaders, and ministry teams will encounter people who, no matter what approach they try, can't seem to break free from their bondages of addictions, mental and emotional challenges, poverty, and so much more. In her book It's Not Your Grandma's Deliverance, Sandy Renner has done an excellent job approaching the topic of deliverance and inner healing simply and biblically that any pastor, ministry leader, Christian counselor, or layman can understand, learn, and apply to people needing freedom. This book is for such a time as this when dark is getting darker, suicides and other mental health issues are increasing at an alarming and frightening rate, and addictions are affecting almost every household. It's a book I believe would benefit all pastors, ministry leaders, Christian counselors, and church prayer and ministry teams. Jesus paid a high price through suffering and dying to set people free. Deliverance and inner healing go hand-in-hand. They are Kingdom keys that, if considered and applied, would significantly damage the kingdom of darkness by freeing the captive prisoners. Indeed, Paul suffered a lot of abuse for what he stood for (2 Corinthians 11:23-27), yet he encourages all believers to receive the freedom Christ secured for them and to stand firm in it. In her straight-talk manner and accumulated wisdom, Author Sandy Renner offers a thorough outline of biblical principles to achieve such freedom. Freedom is never free; someone always pays the price. Jesus Christ paid the price for our salvation, including healing, deliverance, and freedom (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20). He paid a rather hefty ransom—His very own life)—to bridge the separation between God and man, the result of mankind’s sin.
We pay the most for what we most value. We will purchase nice homes, new cars, and even what we deem a good education for our children because these things hold worldly value. What about things of eternal value? As much as we pay for our homes, vehicles, and worldly goodies, they will not last forever because they are subject to rust and decay. However, the eternal things are not valued and are often trampled upon as worthless (Matthew 6:19, 20).
We do not and cannot earn our salvation. We have a responsibility to maintain our freedom with the help of the Holy Spirit. Paul was talking about this when he instructed the Galatians to “stand firm.” I equate standing firm with paying the price for something. This book will show you how to invest in your spiritual wholeness to yield an abundant life in this world and throughout eternity. Imagine the abundant life Christ came to give us. There is no life in resentment, unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, or any of the multitudes of emotions offered when life does not go according to our plans.
However, applying the principles laid in this book will leave you lighter, and the light of Christ in you will emanate all around you. I am genuinely excited about the transformation you are about to experience.
