Living Stones International Community reaches to the four corners of the Earth. There is no place we won't go when the Lord opens the door. Scott Cooper, Sandy Renner, and Lorrie Lawrence. They live in different states, but come together for the Kingdom of God wherever the Spirit of God leads.
Based in Cayce, South Carolina, Living Stones International Community is a first and foremost a Church. The word “community” was chosen to describe our organization instead of simply the word “church” because it best describes how we envision of the body of Christ as those who believe in and follow Him, rather than just a local gathering.
Our passion is to see believers in Christ operate as a body rather than just an organization. Under the leadership of Pastor Sandy Renner, we meet every Sunday afternoon to study the word of God in the area of Columbia, South Carolina. In addition, a second body meets together in the area of Hickory, North Carolina under the leadership pastor Lorrie Lawrence every Tuesday night. The founder and President of LSIC is Pastor Scott Cooper, who primarily oversees and directs our missions outreach.
As a major part of our vision, we have a passion to operate as a Church body internationally. LSIC partners with EARE Ministries of Andhra Pradesh, India under the direction of Bishop Sudheer Kumar. Among other things, our activities there include teaching and preaching, providing water wells in poor villages, and helping to rescue victims of human trafficking.
Our primary area of mission work is in the Western Province of Kenya, operating from the town of Bungoma. Pastor Scott Cooper spends a large portion of his time there. LSIC employs two Kenyans for the work of the ministry. We partner with Christian Life Teaching (CLT,) an accredited college of the Bible, which has a campus in Kenya but is headquartered in Kalispell, Montana. Activities with CLT include teaching and preaching, small groups in Kenyan homes, and prison outreach.
Our primary area of responsibility in Kenya is the oversight of our African congregation, known as Destiny Restoration Center (DRC,) under the leadership of Pastor Jane Wanja. The pastors of LSIC in America oversee the direction and ministry of DRC. Though the people of LSIC may be in the three different countries, we all consider ourselves to be one body within the body of Jesus Christ. We do not put our efforts or resources into a facility, but rather people. We have a great desire to see people released not only from the bondage of the world, but from the bondage of religion.
OUR LEADERS
From Thomasville, Georgia, Pastor Scott Cooper is the founder and president of LSIC. Having been in full-time ministry since 1996, his background has been in church leadership as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and worship leader. Pastor Scott has had extensive music training since childhood and occasionally leads worship for the gathering of LSIC. His passion is the overseas mission work of LSIC, which is where he concentrates most of his effort.
Originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, Pastor Sandy Renner now lives in Cayce, South Carolina, with her husband, Ray. She leads our primary gathering on Sunday afternoons. Pastor Sandy has been in full-time ministry for approximately 40 years and gives great wisdom and insight to the leadership of LSIC. She is particularly gifted in the area of spiritual deliverance, which is also a major function of LSIC. She has been involved in multiple forms of ministry and is even the author of several children’s books.
From Catawba, North Carolina, Pastor Lorrie Lawrence leads our gathering in the area of Hickory, North Carolina, She began working in ministry in 2004 and has been faithful in the work of the ministry since. She also moves greatly in the areas of teaching, preaching, deliverance, and missions; as do the other pastors of LSIC. She leads an outreach branch of LSIC known as “Transformations,” which works to help transform the lives of hurting women in the Hickory area.
All three pastors are ordained for the work of the ministry and are licensed to preach by LSIC, which is legally registered in South Carolina as a Religious, Non-Profit Corporation. Though our model is unique and different from the traditional model of most churches, LSIC practices the normal and expected ordinances of any church such a baptism, dedication, and the conduction of weddings and funerals. LSIC is not associated with any denomination. We consider ourselves to be “interdenominational,” because we are willing to work with anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as the son of God, regardless of menial theological differences.
